A colonoscopy to screen for colorectal cancer should begin at age 50 years for individuals without any risk factors in Singapore.
Colorectal cancer is the most common cancer in Singapore. We also have the highest age-standardised incidence of rectal cancer in the world.
Screening earlier than the recommended age is advised in individuals with a strong family history of colorectal cancer or a personal history of inflammatory bowel disease.
